A promise to make happen!Hello everyone, As many of you know by now our Inaugural event did not go off like it was planned. If you haven't
heard, our first event to run the Chicago Marathon was stopped short by an emergency illness to Lucas, our son. After
flying to Chicago to run the marathon and being there for 5 days, I found myself back on a plane fearfully flying back 2 days
before I was to run. Lucas was diagnosed with the Swine Flu, Pneumonia, and RSV and ended up being hospitilized.
So needless to say I didn't get a chance to run the marathon and feel extremely bad due to the fact that we promoted our website,
we opened our Charity Foundation, and I missed out on the chance to run for my son. I'm sure no one will fault me for
coming home to help my wife and kids but I still feel bad because of letting you all down. Now on a great note,
after only 5 days in the hospital and a miracle for how sick he was, Lucas was able to go home!! He's still recovering
but he's way better now after a series of medications to relieve him. 2 days after he went in my daughter was diagnosed
with the same virus and it was good that I was home (and could walk ok!) However, being stronger, she's made a fast
recovery. So now that all is back to almost our normal, I make a vow to you all to run those 26.2 miles that I promised.
This will be a Personal Marathon of sorts. My idea is to also get those of you local to me in Arizona to participate
in this event. I think it will be great and I will be asking you if you'd like to run with me at various starting points
throughout the run. I'll ask who would like to run first of all, and then how far you'd like to run. Then plug
you into a point where you can join me on the course. If someone wants to run a mile then great. If someone wants
to run 5 miles then awesome! There's no worry about pacing also as I will conform to the runner/s I'm running with.
We will fit everyone into the run and it will keep me company along the way. Then my goal is to finish the last stretch
(maybe a mile) with Lucas in a stroller! So when things don't work out the way you want them to, then you make
opportunities happen! I believe this will be a great opportunity for us and for people to come on out, get their "training/exercise"
runs in for the day anyway and participate in a great cause. Let's help the kids challenged with Cerebral Palsy huh? The
date will be released within the next few weeks and since I'm scheduled to run a Marathon in January, it may just take place
right around that time. Thanks soooo much for the continued support. God Bless!! Ed, Lisa, Caitlin
and Lucas Dassie

3 Days before MarathonWell, in 3 days I run for my son and the kids that need us. I'm excited and
yet more nervous. Since the support you all have given has blown us away, I'm feeling that people are counting on me
to do this! So I'm nervously looking forward to running in the Chicago 35 degree weather which is quite different than
home in AZ at 90 degrees ;) I plan on rocking a solid run for you all though! But mostly I run with a different
heart this time as it's for the kids. I'm just lending my body so that they can benefit! Thank you all for your
support and wish me success!! Ed
